Yve Belle is a British conceptual artist and designer-maker who began working with textiles and traditional soft furnishing for domestic settings. Born into a rich cultural heritage of British and Caribbean dialects, food, music, art and spirituality have all influenced her practice. Belle explores the impact sensory experiences can have on individual people’s feelings and emotions, incorporating the study of material culture and sensory anthropology to examine the relationship between people, culture, senses and wellbeing.
Sense-o-bility is a sensory tool kit intended to address the impact of sensory overload and support one's mental wellbeing. It can be used as a means of capturing a quiet moment to self-soothe by regulating emotions through touch, sight, smell and sound. It aims to increase the production of pleasure hormones that will reduce stress or anxiety.
