Rush Barnett is a designer-maker based in South London. Bacchanalia '24 is a series of wine drinking vessels that obscure the face when lifted to the mouth, inspired by Symposiums from Grecian classical civilisation, where the elite would gather and discuss politics, relationships and art. Guests were scrutinised for their social conduct and drinking behaviour. The masks in this series portray various grotesque emotions associated with excessive drunkenness, encouraging viewers to reflect on British drinking culture.
